The first "JUST MOT's" testing station opened in January 1995. It is now a highly profitable business run and owned by Danny Pettitt with his staff at Uckfield.

Having developed a successful business system that was tried and tested, Danny decided to franchise JUST MOT's. He set up JUST MOT's LTD to operate as a franchise company and the first franchise was granted in 1997 this was also a success and was followed by another four over the next couple of years. This period of controlled growth has enabled the systems to be improved and built upon. The success of the existing JUST MOT's franchised testing stations showed that the time was right to establish a national network of JUST MOT's testing stations.

Danny seeked to expand the "JUST MOT's" concept by using Venture Capital. Several Business's saw the opertunity and purchased shares in JUST MOT's ltd. The company then opened sites in Bexhill, Burgess Hill, Lewes, Hove and Tunbridge Wells, these have been running since 2002 and in 2005/6, after more shareholders joined, the company opened a site in Bognor Regis followed by one in Hastings. In the middle of 2007 saw Tonbridge Branch open.

The 2008 project was to open further depot's, this has resulted in Worthing and Crayford in Kent. Brighton, Crawley, and Littlehampton are the next planned sites.
